Welcome!

Greetings! This is the latest addition to the "SMBC goes hi-tech" craze. On this blog will be information about what we're doing in class and the ability to post responses to the Sunday school lessons, as well as keep up to date with what we're doing outside of class.

Welcome to the official blog of the South Main Baptist Church College Community. We are a friendly group who can't wait to feed you free food, start a great discussion with you, and generally ensure you have a great time!

Join us every Sunday at 9:40am for Sunday School and stick around for the worship service at 11:00am, or come to the early service at 8:30 if you're a morning person!

We also have a variety of special events throughout the year, such as missions projects (in town, out of state, and even out of the country), retreats, movie nights, ethnic dinner nights, Astros games, and much more.

South Main Baptist Church is located at 4100 Main Street, Houston, TX. The College Community classroom is located in room 205 of the Chafin Building (map).

From Rice University (by light rail):
Take northbound train to Wheeler Station, walk north on Main about 2 blocks until you see the church on your left

From Rice University (by car):
Drive north on Main, turn left on Richmond/Wheeler, turn right on 59 feeder road, turn right on Branard, turn right into the main parking lot

From University of Houston - Main Campus:
Drive west on Elgin, turn left on Downing, turn right on Wheeler, turn right on 59 feeder road, turn right on Branard, turn right into the main parking lot

From University of Houston - Downtown (by rail):

Take southbound train to Wheeler Station, walk north on Main about 2 blocks until you see the church on your left

From University of Houston - Downtown (by car):
Take Rothwell to I-10E, exit 770A to US-59, exit Fannin, turn right on Arbor, right on Main, left on Richmond, right on Brandt, right on Colquitt, and right into the main parking lot

From University of St. Thomas:
Drive south on Montrose, turn left on Richmond, turn left on 59 feeder road, turn right on Branard, turn right into the main parking lot

From Houston Baptist University:

Take 59 for 7.2 miles, take the TX-527 Spur N, take the immediate Richmond/Wheeler exit, turn right on Colquitt, and turn right into the main parking lot
